Walk With God

Enoch walked with God after he fathered Methuselah 300 years and had other sons and daughters.  Enoch walked with God and he was not, for God took him.  Genesis 5:22, 24

Enoch was one of the Godly people in the Bible. He lived a holy and righteous life.   He walked with God.  What does it mean to walk with God?

Enoch lived a life of faith in God.  He trusted God’s promises.  Enoch lived for God every day.  He had a deep and ongoing relationship with God.  Waking with God means to go, walk, and come.  To go walks come, depart, proceed, move, go away or to die, live, the manna of life.

Enoch lived in godliness more than anyone else.  He believed in God’s promises.  He made every effort to live a holy life.  His lifestyle was standard and a challenge to the ungodly.  In the book of Jude, Jude states in verses 14-15, that Enoch spoke against the ungodliness.  He kept warning people about God’s judgment on them for their ungodly words and behavior.

Enoch pleased God so much that God honored him in a special way.  Enoch was taken directly to heaven.  He did not die a natural death.

Enoch is a great example to us on how to live a godly life.  He showed us how to live our lives around the unrighteous people.  We should live our lives so that others can see that we walk closely with God that we have a deep relationship with God.  God’s love in us should make us be bold to speak out against the sinful things on this earth.  We need to love the ungodly enough to speak truth into their lives so they have the chance not to go through God’s judgment.

Do you walk with God daily?

Would you like to walk with God daily?

Do you love God enough to be bold and courageous to speak out in truth?

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for showing us examples of how to live for you in the bible.  I pray that we will walk with you that honors you.  I pray that we will speak out in truth so others will hear your truth and choose to live for you.  I pray that we don’t become prideful but full of love for others.

In Jesus Name

amen
