Chosen by God

For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you,  1 Thessalonians 1:4

God chose you! Say that to yourself looking in a mirror.  Do you believe it? We all at one point struggle to accept that God loves us.  He loves us unconditionally.  Keep telling yourself that.  God Loves Me. Jesus loves me until you believe it with your whole heart.

God has taken the first step in renewing our relationship with him by sending his son Jesus Christ.  Jesus, by paying the price of our sins, bridged the gap between God and us.  Paul describes God’s chosen people by those who have accepted his invitation of forgiveness and through Jesus’ sacrifice, we imitate Christ, endure suffering with joy, set a worthy example of faith, a right relationship with God.  They/we follow Christ and serve God’s purpose.  In return, his chosen eagerly await Jesus’s return from Heaven.

People have been misguided that all people who claim that Jesus is their savior will be saved, yet they live unrighteous lives.  This is a seriously misguided theory.  This thought is distorted of spiritual salvation preached by Jesus and those who were personally commissioned to establish his church.  A person must sincerely admit their sin, turn away from their own way, and surrender their lives to Christ to be a true follower of Christ.  Remember, according to Matthew 3:2, repentance is to make a complete change.

We must not only see Jesus as our savior but also as our Lord.  He is our leader and absolute authority over our lives.  When we chose God and he chose you, we are in a continual, daily, growing relationship with God.  We live by faith.  We are submissive to his ways and purposes.

We may fail and make mistakes.  We may go on a roller-coaster relationship with God.  What’s great about our Triune God is he is gentle, loving, merciful, graceful, and ever so patient.  He will keep teaching and guiding us.  We get forgiveness when our heart is sincere.  He chose you.  He loves you.

Do you know and believe that God chose you?

Do you believe God loves you?

What is holding you back on believing this?

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for choosing me.  Thank you for loving me.  God, I pray that we will live for you daily. I pray that we will choose you.  I pray that we will be submissive to you and your ways.

In Jesus Name

Amen
