But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10
God promised to show His strength through Paul’s weaknesses. God did not remove Paul’s affliction. God’s power is shown through weak people. Our weaknesses help develop our Christian character, it also deepens our worship. When we admit our weakness, we are then affirming God’s strength. This should help show us courage or at least give us courage.
It takes courage to follow God, to be obedient to him. It takes courage to admit you are weak and need to rely on Our sovereign God. It takes courage to welcome weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecution, and calamities; to be content in these things.
Be encouraged in your courage that when you are weak God is there. His strength is getting you through this time. We can then boast about the God we serve.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for being our strength in our weak times. Thank you for giving us the courage to do what is hard. I pray that you will help me find courage during hard times. I want to boast about you. Boast about how powerful you are, how you help me and protect me in my weaknesses. Help me to be content with exactly where you have me, and that your plan is done according to your will.
In Jesus Name
Amen
