Therefore, prepare your minds for actions, be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. 1 Peter 1:13
We just got done celebrating the birth of Jesus. His whole purpose for his birth was to be the sacrifice for our sins. He is our hope as we wait for His return. As we wait for His return; we need to keep our minds prepared. We need to be mentally alert. One stays mentally alert when we stay in God’s word, memorizing Gods word. We have to be obedient to God’s Word. We need to disciplined in the ways of God’s word. Be focused on His word in our daily living. This is what I would call practice what we have learned.
We have self-control when we turn away from sin. Self – control is able to say no to the things that go against God’s principles. Some will be easier than others. However, we still have to practice using self – control and be obedient.
Set your hope fully on God. Fully on hIs grace. When Jesus is revealed to you, you now have the hope you have to get you through life sufferings. We need to live fully for Christ.
Dear Heavenly Father,
I thank you that you are our strength. Help us to prepare our minds for actions, to be self-controlled. Thank you for your grace.
