This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:8-11
What does it mean to be prosperous and successful? In the world’s view it is possessions, money, and status (title or rank in society). In God’s view it is meditating on His word day and night. It is to be careful to do all according to His word, what is written. This right here can be intimidating. Thankfully God is graceful and merciful. Mediating is thinking, pondering on what God’s word says and means; to understand what God is telling us.
When we know and obey God’s word that is when we will be prosperous and successful. We will then have the wisdom to do what is right and achieve God’s goals for our lives. this doesn’t guarantee wealth and material prosperity. Obey God’s plan is the greatest success for each of us, however, it can take us through some suffering and adversity.
So my dear one! Be strong and courageous in God as he guides through his plans.

Do you need to obey God?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you that we can lean into you for courage. That we get to meditate on you word day and night. God you know what we each of us needs, Lord please open up our ears and eyes to you and get to know you more. Help us to have a heart that wants to obey you.
