An Everlasting Love

the Lord appeared to him from far away.  I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.  Jeremiah 31:3

God loves his people with an everlasting love.  He reaches out with kindness to his children.  Look at the Israelites.  They obey God, then slip away from him.  It’s a yo-yo.  Yet, there is God just waiting for them to return to him.  God still loving them, showing grace and mercy.  god will discipline us for our disobedience.  He is still calling us home.  He is still loving us.

I caught myself questioning the Israelites fo them turning to other gods.  For instance, Why do you guys keep doing this? No, don’t do that.  It is sin!!!! Why! Why!  Then I step back.  I take a look of our time.  We do the same thing as the Israelites did.  It is history repeating itself.  We walk away from God to please ourselves.  Here is  God  waiting patiently for us and still loving us.

God will be faithful to us.  He will have everlasting love for us.  Even when we sin.  This doesn’t mean we won’t have consequences for our sins.  We will.  However, God still loves us.

Have you noticed how we do what the Israelites did.  We run to God when we are in trouble – sick, drugs, pregnant, you know when we do wrong.  Then when everything is okay.  We revert back to our old ways.  We cannot keep doing this.  We have to be obedient to God.  He loves us.  He has a love for us that we can not comprehend.  But it is there.  HE loves YOU!!!! HE loves ME!!! Soooo, lets love him back by not turning to our old ways.  Let’s be so focus on our Triune God.  Let’s aim to be righteous.

Are you ready to love God, truly love him?

Do you struggle with the yo-yo life  of a relationship with God?

Do you need to be more God oriented?

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for not giving up on us.  Thank you for your everlasting love and faithfulness.  God, help us to be obedient and true to you.  If we have a yo-yo lifestyle, help us to turn away from that life and be living more for you.

In Jesus name

Amen
