Rooted and Grounded In God’s Love

For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with power through his spirit  in  your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith – that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.  Ephesians 3:14-19

I remember being a little girl and watching the adults kneeling in prayer.  Did you know this is the proper poster that shows reverence?  Have you ever prayed in this posture.  I have but to be honest I don’t pray enough in this position.

Here he is asking spiritual blessings  for these people.  That they will have strength from the Spirit of God in the inner part of man – the soul.  We need strength for faith to serve Go and do what he asks us to do.

If we have the word of God writing in our hearts, the love of Christ  will be rooted and grounded in our lives.  Christ will dwell in our lives.  Where the spirit dwells, he will dwell.  Amen.

The word breadth in this passage means great extent, carried to the ends of he earth. That is how much fullness of God you can have.

Be rooted and grounded in Gods’ love.  You are very much loved by God. You can find strength in his love.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the love you give to us and the amount of it.  I am so glad I get my strength from you.
