God is Compassionate and Merciful

Take, my brothers, the prophets, who have spoken in the example of suffering, affliction,  and of patience.  See, we count as blessed those who endured.  You have heard of Job’s endurance and have seen the outcome from the Lord.  The Lord is very compassionate and merciful.  James 5:10-11

To endure trials or afflictions is to be blessed.  Job, What a man! Job is known as righteous man.  ow he went through trials, affliction, and grief.  He endured  many things, and he was blessed.  Job was patient in his suffering.  He is a role model to us on how we should  be in our sufferings. Even while Job was going through his afflictions, God still loved him.

God showed Job mercy.  God was merciful towards Job.  We can find God’s mercy in the event.  We can find mercy in our afflictions that we go through also.  Trust God in all things.  He is compassionate and merciful.

Think back at a time you went through affliction?

Can you see God’s hand in your affliction?

Can you see where he is merciful?

I don’t ask for affliction, however, I do love seeing God’s glory in my affliction.  I love how he molds me, teaches me, and shows his love, grace, and mercy in each situation.  In the mist of it all.  I love how he reveals himself to me.  I love how close we get when I keep my eyes on him.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for showing your mercy to us in our afflictions.  Thank you for having role models to show us how to go about these things.  Help us to look at how you help us during the times of afflictions.

In Jesus Name

Amen
