“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
I am so grateful that God know what my future holds. I am grateful that he wants to prosper me and not harm me. I am thankful that he has plans to give me hope and a future!
When I am going through trials, hardships, or simply hard things; this verse is one that I cling too. It gives me comfort during those dark, gray times of life. It reminds me that there is a purpose for me in God’s big story. I cling to the part where I know God is not going to harm me.
This makes me think of Daniel’s friends – Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and the fiery furnace. They were faithful to God, obedient to God. While in the furnace, they were not harmed. However, they were in a fire. I am sure they felt the heat, but they weren’t harmed. They were faithful in a really hard time.
I believe that God is still still the same today as he was in the Old Testament. He will protect us when we are faithful and obedient. Yes, we will feel the pain and have bad things happen, but God will take care of it.
The next time you are struggling with life and the struggles that come with that, trust God. Know that God has a plan for you. He will not harm you but prosper you, to give you a hope and a future. Take comfort in God’s word and his promises. Be grateful!!
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for being in control of our lives thank you for giving us hope and a future.
In Jesus Name
Amen
