The zeal of the Lord Almighty. Do you know or even understand what this means? What does zeal mean? It means fervor for a person, cause, or object; eager desire or endeavor; enthusiastic diligence; ardor. Wow! God has a zeal for us humans. Let’s break this down even further. Fervor means great warmth and earnestness of feeling. Diligence is a constant and earnest effort to accomplish what is undertaken; persistent exertion of body or mind. Ardor is a strong or extravagant fondness, enthusiasm, or desire for anything. God’s love for us is filled with zeal. Can you grasp this? Not sure if I truly can grasp this.
His love for his people, his creation, that God can send His son to earth. It is His jealousy that none of us should perish but have eternal life with Him. God will stop at nothing for His people. His government is not based on human power. His provision is not limited to gold and silver.
Read Proverbs 8:19 – My fruit is better than solid gold, and my harvest than pure silver.
Solomon is understating that his fruit is far more important than his gold and silver; his wisdom is more than his wealth. When we surrender our desires and receive God’s fruit, we are filled with spiritual nourishment to walk out God’s specific calling in our lives. God delights in giving us what we desire in our hearts. Yet, we have to make sure that those desires do not become more than our desire for God. God’s perfect will must be above our desires.
We serve an awesome God. He loves us so much (his zeal) that he gently nudges us to move our hearts and minds to His will.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for this glorious day. Thank you for your zeal for your children. I pray that we will align our hearts and minds to your perfect will.
In Jesus Name
Amen
