Even Elizabeth, your relative, is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive, is in her sixth month. For no word from God will ever fail. ” I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left. Luke 1:36-38

There is so much in this world that will fail us. People will fail us, and friends will fail us; the family will fail us. Do you know who won’t fail us? God! His word will never fail. Isn’t that amazing. Let’s read 1 Corinthians 13, ”
If I speak human or angelic languages
but do not have love,
I am a sounding gong or a clanging cymbal.
If I have the gift of prophecy
and understand all mysteries
and all knowledge,
and if I have all faith
so that I can move mountains
but do not have love; I am nothing.
And if I donate all my goods to feed the poor,
and if I give my body in order to boast
but do not have love; I gain nothing.
Love is patient; love is kind.
Love does not envy,
is not boastful, is not conceited,
does not act improperly,
is not selfish, is not provoked,
and does not keep a record of wrongs.
Love finds no joy in unrighteousness
but rejoices in the truth.
It bears all things, believes all things,
hopes all things endures all things.
Love never ends.
But as for prophecies,
they will come to an end;
as for languages, they will cease;
as for knowledge, it will come to an end.
Meditate on these verses. In fact, take time and read the whole chapter 13 of 1 Corinthians. Love hopes: In this busy season hold on to God’s love. Instead of being overwhelmed, declare hope. Even if your plans don’t go as desired. Believe that God’s love reaches out to you showing you the path of joy. Love believes: Believe that Jesus can keep your focus on Him. Ponder and treasure the story revealed in God’s word. Nothing is impossible with God. Believe that God is at work in our preparations and celebrations. Love perseveres: Love others with a steadfast love for others. Forgive others of their wrongdoing and turn away from the offense. Love others at all times, during times of peace and times of stress. Love endures: love your family even with the upheaval of the holiday time. Don’t harden your heart or withdraw love when you are frustrated. Nurture the relationships that God has provided in your life. Love is kind: Kindness goes a long way. Stay connected to God this season. This will help you to be loving towards everyone. Offer compassion and care to those around you. Love never fails: This is God’s bold statement. Responding in love changes strife into joy. Love never gives up. It never runs out. It covers all.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your unfailing love. I pray that we will love as you love and show it to others this season.
In Jesus Name
Amen
