. Proverbs 4:12 promises that “when you walk, your steps will not be hampered; when you run, you will not stumble.” God’s love ties us forward on the path He has ordained. Joseph and Mary were not planning on a trip to Bethlehem; however, God orchestrated circumstances in their lives to fulfill the prophecies of the Messiah.
God can make these promises to us because His love clears the path for our feet and pushes us forward. We can choose to reject His offer. However, His outstretched hand encourages us to move forward in His calling.
There are lies and limiting beliefs that we may have about ourselves, our path, and God himself. Be aware of this. Do you fall prey to these kinds of thoughts? I sure do! What kind of thoughts do you have? How about some of these kinds of thoughts: I will fail; eventually, I am not good enough, God will be disappointed in me, There is someone else that could do better than me, etc.
Do these kinds of thoughts shout louder in your head, stopping you from trusting in the promises of God? Do you feel like you have a battle in your head? This season, let’s pray that God will shine a light on the lies that we hear. God led Mary and Joseph and provided for their every need. He will do the same for you and me.
“The Lord earnestly waits, expecting, looking, and longing to be gracious to you; and therefore He lifts Himself up, that He may have mercy on you and show loving-kindness to you. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed, happy, fortunate, to be envied are all those who earnestly wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him, for His victory, His favor, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship!” Isaiah 30:18
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your ways. I pray that we stay in step with you and let you guide and direct our days.
In Jesus Name
Amen
