Am I Good Enough

I am the true vine. John 15:1

In today’s society, we struggle with the thought of “I am good enough”.  God made us exactly the way we are and we are good enough.  Especially when we are His child.  He made each of us full of potential and with a purpose.  He made us produce fruit, His fruit.  Fruit that will bring glory to God.

Do you want to produce fruit for God’s glory?

God made us for reaching out, not pull back.  He made us to believe the best before the worst.  He made us to freely give grace since we know we need grace ourselves.  He made us to add goodness this world.  He wants to us see the beauty in this world.  He wants us to rest in His assurance of His lavish love for us.

Without Jesus, we are selfish, self-focused, and all about our selves and bringing glory to ourselves.   With Jesus, we are better than good enough.  He steps in and fulfills what we cannot do on our own.  Thank you, Jesus!!!    Let’s look at what John 15:1 says,  “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener.”  Jesus is saying that what Jesus does we cannot do on our own.  Jesus is the true vine.  Israel is supposed to be the vine, however they can’t do it.  Jesus is stepping in and fulfilling what they couldn’t do. Guess what!  We are also in the same boat as the Israelites.  We cannot do what God has called us to do without Him.  We fail every time we try to do it on our own.  We cannot stay faithful to His commands.  Just as the Israelites needed Jesus to step in, we also need to have Jesus step into our lives and help us.

All we want is to be enough.  However, with Jesus, we are enough.  In fact, we are more than enough with HIM.  Embrace the truth instead of covering it up.  Today, where do you feel that you are not enough?  Marriage, single, divorced, parenting, friend, work, career, successful, or even school.  Did you try hiding it, or did you embrace it?  Do you feel that you are not good enough for Jesus and this is what stops you from serving Him?

Here are some more verses for you to meditate on!  Ephesians 2:10; Romans 8:38-39;  James 1:2-4; 1 Peter 2:9; and Zephaniah 3:17.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for being our gardener.  Thank you that through Christ we are good enough. In fact, through Christ, we are better than good enough.  I pray that as we fight this battle, that we will lean into you more Jesus.  I pray that we will know that the only way to being good enough is in you.

In Jesus Name

Amen
