    The Lord Stood by Me

But the Lord stood by my side and gave me strength, so that through me the message might be fully proclaimed and all the gentiles might hear it. And I was delivered from the lion’s mouth.  2 Timothy 4:17-18 Paul was in prison.  The church is in turmoil.  Timothy probably didn’t have the courage to deal with the church.  Paul is encouraging Timothy to speak to the church as God has called him to do. God always gives us strength to do what he has asked us to do. When we step out in faith and are obedient that is when the evidence of God’s strength will be revealed.  Therefore,…

    Courage in the Battle

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes fo the devil.  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over the present darkness, in the heavenly places.  Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.  Ephesians 6:10-13 Courage  – The ability to do something that frightens one.  Strength in the face of pain or grief. It takes courage to go…

    Inspired By Hope

. We continually remember before our God and father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.  1 Thessalonians 1:3 Faith, Love, and Hope.  These three words you see together quite a bit.  I do believe that these three words can be a foundation to our walk with God.  Let’s dive in deeper!! Faith!  Faith is what we build our relationship with God.  Faith according to an online dictionary means “complete trust or confidence in someone or something.  A strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a  religion, based on spiritual apprehension and not proof.  We have to…

    Courage In Weakness

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”  Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and  calamities.  For when I am weak, then I am strong.   2 Corinthians 12:9-10 God promised to show His strength through Paul’s weaknesses.  God did not remove Paul’s affliction.  God’s power is shown through weak people.  Our weaknesses helps develop our Christian character, it also deepens our worship.  When we admit our weakness, we are…

    Generously through Jesus Christ

Whom he poured out on us generously through Jesus Christ our Savior, so that, having been justified by his grace, we might become heirs having the hope of eternal life.  Titus 3:6-7   God loves ravishing.  Let me show you.  Let’s loot at the word generously.  Generously is also linked to abundantly and richly.  They are used in other translations.  Abundantly is riches, wealth, one that is enriched. What did God pour out abundantly generously to us?  He poured the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ into us.  When We choose to make God our Lord and Savior he generously pours our the Holy Spirit.  It is overwhelmingly that the more…

Joyful, Patient, and Faithful in Hope

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.  Roman 12:12 God is honored when we put our hope and trust in him.  He is honored,  when we rejoice in our hope.  Be joyful in ones hope can be found when we are serving God. As we go through affliction, we should be patient.  God will allow us to suffer as Jesus suffered; and in that suffering we need to be patient on God.  When we rejoice in our hope, we can then be patient in our sufferings.  We must patiently endure it. then we need to be faithful in our prayer.  We need to pray in our sufferings.  We…

    Hope in the Waiting

I will wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in His word I put my hope.  Psalm 130:5 It is hard to wait for the Lord.  It’s hard waiting to see how he will handle things.  We get impatient and take things into our own hands.  We are then not putting our trust in our God.  We must wait and hope only on what he has spoken. Waiting means to look for, to hope, to expect.  When we wait for God, we are expecting him to do his will.  When we wait on the Lord we are showing we have no others gods in our lives. Can you?  Will…

    Hope in the hopelessness

In hope he believed against hope, that he should become the father of many nations, as he had been told, so shall your offspring be.  Romans 4:18 Abraham was promised to be the father of many nations.  When he was promised this, he and his wife Sarah were a very old couple.  It was a hopeless situation.  However, He trusted and believe in God’s word.  Abraham expectation (hope) that God would fulfilled His promise. Faith is choosing to believe what God says.  To be bold and unswervingly  to trust God in the impossible.  To believe in God in the face of challenging circumstances.  Abraham grounded his faith upon hope when there was…

    Anchored Hope

that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.  This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the presence behind the veil.  Hebrews 6:18-19 We can trust God and his word because He can’t lie.  God’s nature and his promises don’t change.  He is trustworthy.  Our hope is secure because of who God is. A ship’s anchor holds it safely in place, this is what our faith and hope in Christ does.  It assures our safety and security as long…
