Be Ware!!

To the saints and faithful brothers in Christ at Colossae: Grace to you and from God our father.  Colossians 1:2

Are you in tune to God so you can discern imposters? God never promised that following him would be easy. However, he does protect us. Along with him keeping his promises we have to do our part. We have to make our Tryon got top, number one priority in our life. This means spending time in prayer, studying your Bible to really know it and understand it, apply all that we learn, to worship and praise God. Here I would like to talk about being biblical literate to discern the bolts teachers.

Paul wrote to the Colossians because of the false teachers that were coming in among the believers. They were filtering in and proclaiming devotion to Jesus and loyalty to his teachings were not enough for a true Christians faith and salvation. The false teachers mixed human  “Philosophy” and “tradition”  with the gospel calling for the worship of angels as mediators between God and humans. They also demanded strict obedience to certain Jewish religious requirements. They claim to have special visions that justified there miss guided claims. This all happened during the New Testament times.  Guess what! It’s happening in our time too. We have to be aware and stand firm on God’s truth and speak truth and refute what is evil.

Paul is a great example to learn from. He spoke out against Steve life! He does it by showing Christ is not only our personal savior, he know, the one who forgives sins and rescues us from spiritual death, but is also head of the church and Lord of the universe and all creation. We do not need any other mediator, human or spiritual, to go between us and God. We get to go directly to God.

When we know the Bible and what it says, we can, with God’s help discern the false teachers.  We need to not let our insecurities of how to study the bible be a road block! Remember the Holy Spirit is with you.  He will speak to you and guide you to the truth.

Are you aware of the false teachers out there?

Can you discern what is biblical truth and what is a lie?

are you willing today to dig deeper into God’s word to know him and his truth?

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you so much for you Truth.  I pray that we will desire to study your word. To know it and understand it.  To stand firm in your word!! I pray that we will be able to discern what it good and what is evil according to you and your word.

In Jesus Name

Amen
