Do you find it hard to be obedient to God and His word? Do you find it hard to surrender all to him? God loves His children. In order to experience His love and enjoy His love, we have to be obedient to Him. Obeying God is a willing heart towards him, not a cold requirement. God has the best interest at heart for us.
What do you think about when you think of obedience? Is it positive or negative? Is it hard or easy?
Do you have teenagers? I have and have had a few. They hate rules and guidelines. I think most of it is that they don’t understand why it is important to follow the rules and obey them. A common word in our household is freedom. “I can’t wait to grow up and have freedom. ” Obedience is a daily choice we have to make in our lives. This is for our land laws and also to God’s commands. It is a moment to moment surrender all around.
Psalm 19: 7-11 says, “The law of the Lord is perfect, reviving the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple . . . More to be desired are they than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and drippings of the honeycomb. Moreover, by them is your servant warned; in keeping them there is great reward.” Do you get any positive outlook form this passage? What are the blessings or rewards according to this passage?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your Holy Spirit and for his guidance. I pray that we will be humble and be obedient to you. I pray that we will choose the moment to moment to be obedient.
