Break up your fallow ground, For it is time to seek the Lord. Till he comes and rains righteousness on you. Hosea 10:12
Are you ready to have a truth encounter? Hosea prophesied in the northern kingdom of Israel in 722 BC. He did this during a time. When the morals were wrapped lady cleaning. It ended in destruction by a Syria. But his family was a symbol of God‘s relationship with his people. His wife with a prostitute and it represented spiritual adultery. His children had prophetic names.
God said Hosea to prophesied to Israel. The Israelites are God’s chosen people. They were in a spiritual and moral decline. They had God’s blessings, yet they still turn away from him. They put off worshiping God and giving God the credit of their blessings. They were seizing their love for God and replaced him with idols, trivial pursuits, and earthly wealth. Even though Hosea delivered rebukes an appealed Over and over, they didn’t return to the Lord.
If we want to return to God, we are going to have to prepare to face the deep secrets upper spiritual lives. Read Hosea 10:12-13. What was Hosea is charge against the Israelites? They plowed wickedness And reaped iniquity, they have eaten the fruit of life all because they trusted in their own ways. Wow!!! They trusted in their own ways.
Fallow ground is once it’s plowed, but now laying waist, must be tilled (broken up) with a sharp plow in order to make the soil ready for seed. Then it is ready to be fruitful and productive.
Could we compare Hosea’s time with today’s world?
What would Hosea tell us today about our condition? He would tell us to return to righteousness, to be close to God and obey God. So they would tell us to except God’s mercy and forgive others. We need to allow God to plow up the hardness in our hearts. We need to grieve of our sins, and have remorse. We need to think about the consequences of our sins that we are experiencing. We need to except responsibility by meeting the consequences upon ourselves. Lastly, make seeking God our highest pursuit. Journal about where you are with God. During this time self evaluate yourself.
Dear Heavenly Father,
I pray that we will fallow the ground of our hearts. Help us to see where we need to return to you.
In Jesus Name
Amen
