    Prayer Time

Our Father in heaven, Your name is honored as holy. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And do not bring us into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. [For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.] Let’s take some time and focus on prayer.  Look up these verses and glean from them. Prayer!  It’s a conversation with God.  Do you struggle with praying?  Is it intimidating to you to pray to God?  Is there a right way to…

    Reflection Day

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. Psalm 46:10 Today is Reflection Day!  I love reflection day.  It’s a time for me to go back and reflect on what God has spoken to me about.  It gives me time to pray and seek God about what he wants to change in my life.  It gives me time to make a game plan of putting action to what God is telling me and asking of me.  Reflection Day gives me a slower pace to grasp what God is telling me.  It gives me more time to…

    Isaac’s Faith

By faith, Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau regarding their future.  Hebrews 11:20 Have you found a healthy and non-dysfunctional family in the bible? Please let me know if you have and where it is in the Bible. Read Genesis 27 and Hebrews 11:20.  How is Paul gives a testimony of the faith of Isaac?  What is it? How can this situation result in a commendation for Isaac’s faith? Isaac gave his sons a blessing. Jacob tricked his father into granting him the blessing to be given to Esau, the firstborn.  Have you ever wondered why Isaac didn’t take it back since he was tricked?…

    Abraham’ s Faith

By faith, Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.  Hebrews 11:8 Abraham, the father of many nations.  How much about Abraham do you know?  God highly esteemed Abraham and spoke of him often. Abraham had times of serious doubt and made some foolish mistakes, yet he had a history of faith.  Remember, the bible figures are human, just like you and me.  So with that being said, when we are in doubt or making mistakes, we can still allow God to testify to our…

    Noah’s Faith

By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family.  Hebrews 11:7 Could you be as bold and obedient to God as Noah? Read Hebrews 11:7 and Genesis 6:5 – 22.  In this passage, this is the very first mention of the word covenant.  Where is it, and how did God say He would provide evidence of it?  Now let’s read Genesis chapter 7.  What does verse 23 have to say?  What was destroyed?  Now move on to Chapter 8.  Where did the ark rest? How did Noah know that the waters had receded?…

    By Faith: Enoch

Enoch was taken from this life by faith so that he did not experience death; he could not be found because God had taken him away.  For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.  Hebrews 11:5 Do you please God? Read Genesis 5:21-24. Enoch walked with God.  This is all we have to do to please God.  Walk with Him, which is obeying Him.  He wants us to have faith in Him, not by sight.  When we align Hebrews 11:5 with Genesis 5:24, We see the Enoch clearly walked by faith, and faith is the evidence of things unseen. Let’s…

    Better Sacrifice

By faith, Abel offered God a better sacrifice than Cain did.  Hebrews 11:4 Do you doubt yourself being able to be used by God?  Do you ask God why He is using someone like yourself and not someone else? I think we have all done that!  I don’t have a redeeming story like so and so.  My story is not as amazing as that person’s.  God really changed that person.  Do you understand my point there?  WE forget that God knows who we are and where we have been.  Yet, He has forgiven us when we choose to follow Him.  We forget that He has…

Blessed Are Those Who Are Unoffended

Blessed is he, who is not offended by me.  Matthew 11:6  Are you a person that gets offended easily? Read Matthew 11:1-19.  From this passage, make a list of every potential challenge and opportunity for John’s confusion due to the imprisonment and Jesus’ ministry.  What do we know about John?  Read Numbers 6:1-4, Luke 1:15.  What do you learn from these passages? He lived his life for one purpose to prepare the way of the Lord. Read John 1:29-34.  What evidence do we have from this passage the  John the Baptist was certain that Jesus was the One for whom he prepared the way?  Now…
