    Reflection Day

Make your own attitude that of Christ Jesus, Phil. 2:5 Today is Reflection Day!  I love reflection day.  It’s a time for me to go back and reflect on what God has spoken to me about.  It gives me time to pray and seek God about what he wants to change in my life.  It gives me time to make a game plan of putting action to what God is telling me and asking of me.  Reflection Day gives me a slower pace to grasp what God is telling me.  It gives me more time to listen to His voice. Make the most of this time!  Get your journals, pens,…

    Gifted to Serve One Another

We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; Romans 12:6   Read 1 Peter 4:10-11: Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.  If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen. 1 Corinthians 12:4-11:  There are different…

Members of One Another: Part 2

All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.   Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.  For we were all baptized be one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.  Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.  Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason…

We Are Members Of One Another

for we are members of his body.  Ephesians 5:30 Read the following passages. Romans 12:1-5:  Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.  Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing, and perfect will.   For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment,…

    Encourage One Another

Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas (which means “son of encouragement”), Acts 4:36 Read the following passages of scripture:  Matthew 14:22-27- Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd.  After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone,  and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it.   Shortly before dawn, Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake.  When the disciples saw him walking on the…

    Praying For Each Other

I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those, you have given me, for they are yours.  All I have is yours, and all you have is mine. And glory has come to me through them.  I will remain in the world no longer, but they are still in the world, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, the name you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one.  While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to…

    Life In Community

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.” Acts 2:42 What is your goal in your Christian walk?  Why?  When we are adopted into God’s family, not only do we have a relationship with God, but also with other believers.  We connect with other believers in the church.  Can I be honest here?  Mentioning the church made me cringe.  In our culture today, people have devalued church attendance.  We have the mind thought that we don’t have to go to church to be a Christian. There is an amount of truth to that but we do need one another.  We need…

    Serving One Another

Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. John 13: 14 People hate having other people wash their feet.  Women who get manicures probably wash their feet before they go to their appointment and make sure they have clean shoes to put on.  At least that is me!  This act of servanthood is a very humbling act of servanthood to one another.  Let’s read John 13:1-17 together, It was just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew that the hour had come for him to leave this world and go to the Father. Having loved his own who were in the…

    Fellowship That Is Genuine

But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. 1 John 1:7 Read the following passages! 1 John 2:9-11 – Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness.  Anyone who loves their brother and sister lives in the light, and there is nothing in them to make them stumble.  But anyone who hates a brother or sister is in the darkness and walks around in the darkness. They do not know where they are going because the darkness…
