    Reflection Day

Spend a few minutes with God praying. Put some music on and worship Him. Now pause, Be still – and know He is God.  Listen to his voice. Is he speaking to you? Write down what he is telling you! If he is being silent just enjoy His presence.  And know he loves you deeply Trust him.  and obey him Father God!  I pray that as we spend this time with you,  that if it be your will to speak to us, let it be so.  Help us to hear you and then to obey you.  Please let each one of us know your love for us.  Amen

    What Love Is

Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude.  It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful but rejoices with the truth.  Love hears all things, endure all things.  Love never ends.    I Corinthians 13:4-7 These verses are about the action of love; a behavior.  Most of all it shows the character of who the Triune God is. We all have to grow in this area of love.  In every situation we get into, we should use verses as a guide of how we are responding,  we should respond in a patient, loving, kind way.…

    Quiets Me With His Love

The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.  Zephaniah 3:17 To me, this is a comforting verse.  When I was going through a hard time, this verse was a go too.  For one God is in our midst.  He is with us.  He will save us.  God supports, supplies, aid, strengthens, protects, and defends us.  God gives us unspeakable joy.  God will rejoice over you with gladness.  When we are anxious, scared, or nervous, he will quiet our hearts with his love.  God’s love…

    Child Of God

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.  The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him.  1 John 3:1 When we accept Christ as our savior;  we become children of God.  We are chosen and adopted through Christ as his very own.  Being adopted in God’s family is the highest honor and privilege of our salvation.  God loves us so much that he calls us his children.  God bestows lavishly His love to us.  What is sad is the world does not know of this great love…

    God Strengthens Me

I can do all things, through Him who strengths me.   Philippians 4:13 The phrase “God only gives me what I can handle” is not correct.  I believe that God will call us to do hard things.  It can be physically, spiritually, or emotionally something that is hard for us to do or go through.  I can give you two scripture references that show this.  In Daniel 3, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are put into a fiery furnace.  The served God wholeheartedly.  They obeyed God.  Depending on the version you use, the soldiers died before they even got the men into the furnace.  These three men kept walking into the…

    Hope In God

Micah 7:7 But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord, I wait for God my Savior, my God will hear me.  NIV The people of Micah’s time were morally sick and spiritually lost.  In Micah’s days, he lived among people who had no comfort.  The people weren’t satisfied with anything.  No satisfaction in their families or other relationships.  Micah had no safety or comfort other than his hope in watching for his Lord his savior.  We have hope while we wait for God because we trust him and his plan. We can hope for Christ to set all things right one day soon.  Micah waited on…

Many Roles Of The Holy Spirit

“I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper to be with you forever. ” John 14:16   God is so good!  Jesus asked His Father to give us another Helper to be with us.  As soon as He ascended to Heaven, God sent the Holy Spirit to be with us.  The Holy Spirit does many things for us. HE is our helper. The greek word for helper is parakletos.  This means literally, one called alongside to help.  The Holy Spirit has many roles.  He is a counselor, strengthener, comforter, helper, adviser, advocate, intercessor, ally, and friend.  “The helper will teach you everything and will cause you to remember all…

    A Love That Is Everlasting

the Lord appeared to him from far away.  I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore I have continued my faithfulness to you.  Jeremiah 31:3 God loves his people with an everlasting love.  He reaches out with kindness to his children.  Look at the Israelites.  They obey God, then slip away from him.  It’s a yo-yo.  Yet, there is God just waiting for them to return to him.  God still loves them, showing grace and mercy.  God will discipline us for our disobedience.  He is still calling us home.  He is still loving us. I caught myself questioning the Israelites fo them turning to other gods.  For instance, Why…

    God is God

But it is because the Lord loves you and is keeping the oath that he swore to your fathers, that the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.  know therefore that the Lord your God is God, the faithful God who keeps covenant and steadfast love with those who love him and keeps  his commandments, to a thousand generations,   Deuteronomy 7:8-9 As we know the Israelites are God’s chosen people.  He was motivated by love for them.  God keeps his promises to those chosen people  – from generation after generation.  God…

    Courage

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”  Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities.  For when I am weak, then I am strong.   2 Corinthians 12:9-10 God promised to show His strength through Paul’s weaknesses.  God did not remove Paul’s affliction.  God’s power is shown through weak people.  Our weaknesses help develop our Christian character, it also deepens our worship.  When we admit our weakness, we are…
