    Reflection Day

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.  Romans 5:8 Today is Reflection Day!  I really love reflection day.  It’s a time for me to go back and reflect on what God has spoken to me about.  It gives me time to pray and seek God about what he wants to speak to change in my life.  It gives me time to make a game plan of putting action to what God is telling me and asking of me.  Reflection Day gives me a slower pace to really grasp what God is telling me.  It gives me more time…

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8 Do you lack forgiveness?  Do you desire to forgive others?  Make a list of people that you have not forgiven completely.  On this paper write at the top – Person’s name, their offense, and My response.  Now confess to God, then to the offender of any wrong response you may have had.  Do not blame them for your actions or responses.  Also, remember that God doesn’t hold us responsible for the wrongs others have done to us.  He only holds us responsible for our words and actions towards others.…

Choosing The Path Of Forgiveness: Part 2

But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.  Philippians 2:13 “They don’t deserve to be forgiven! ”  Has that phrase ever crossed your mind or come out of your mouth?  Let’s see what God’s word has to say about this.  Read Romans 5:8 and Ephesians 2:4-9.  What did we do to earn God’s forgiveness?  What are some reasons we should extend forgiveness to others?  We should extend forgiveness because We have been forgiven by God, so we forgive as we have been forgiven and God commands us to forgive. Have you ever felt like if you forgive them,…

Choosing The Path of Forgiveness: Part One

But now in Christ Jesus, you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. Philippians 2:13 To give forgiveness, we have to be honest and willing to forgive others.  Sometimes forgiveness is instant and other times it is done in stages.  Let’s take a look at some barriers that may block us from forgiving others.  We are going to answer some questions on where we are at with forgiving our offenders.  Pray that the Holy Spirit will speak to you on where you need to work at.  Have you ever been hurt from being lied to, broken promises, neglected grown children, violent crime against…

    Favorable Purposes

And now do not be distressed or angry with yourselves because you sold me here, for God sent me before you to preserve life.  . . And God sent me before you to preserve for you a remnant on earth, and to keep alive for many survivors.  So it was not you who sent me here, but God.  Genesis 45:5, 7 I don’t know about you but I have many many favorite books of the bible.  I also have many favorite bible stories from the Bible.  In the last few years, the story of Joseph has become very dear to my heart.  I mean talk about all the emotions…

    Seventy Times Seven

Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him?  As many as seven times?  “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.”  Matthew 18: 21-22 How much time do you think about yourself getting hurt by others?  Have you changed the way you do life because of hurt from others? To be honest I have put walls up around myself when it comes to relationships, especially with a certain group of females.  I am constantly doing the self-talk telling myself not to give others a chance because of another person.  It’s not fair to that person and you…

    Forgiveness

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ for gave you.  Ephesians 4:32 Do you easily forgive others?  Do you find it hard to forgive others?  When you have hurt others, do you desire them to forgive you? “Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.” ‭‭Micah‬ ‭7:18‬ ‭NIV‬‬  Forgiveness is an important element of our Christian faith.  When we ask God for his forgiveness, our sin is released through the blood of Jesus Christ.  Since we are recipients of His forgiveness, God…

    Reflection Day

I will take pains to have a clear conscience toward both God and man.  Acts 24:16 Today is Reflection Day! It gives me more time to really listen for His…

Today we are going to read from these passages –  1 Peter 3:13-17, and 1 John 3:19-24. And who is he who will harm you if you become followers of what is good? But even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. “And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.”  But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear; having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may…

    Seeking Him More

I have hope in God, which they themselves also accept, that there will be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and the unjust. This being so, I myself always strive to have a conscience without offense toward God and men.  Acts 24:16 Today we are going to read Romans 2:12-16, Hebrews 9:11-14, 1 Peter 3:13-17, and 1 John 3:19-24.  For as many, as have sinned without law will also perish without the law, and as many, as have sinned in the law will be judged by the law  (for not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the…
