See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 1 John 3:1
When we accept Christ as our savior; we become children of God. We are chosen and adopted through Christ as his very own. Being adopted in God’s family is the highest honor and privilege of our salvation. God loves us so much that he calls us his children. God bestows lavishly His love to us. What is sad is the world does not know of this great love to be called His Children. We have to look to the cross to see God’s love for us His Children. For instance, he gives us unconditional love, new mercies every morning, and grace upon grace, and His goodness upon us. He loves and provides, and cares for every one of us. Our self-worth is based God calls us his own and loves us. As children of God, we are heirs and co-heirs with Christ, this means that we have a part in his eternal inheritance. God wants us to know we are His Children. This comes from the presence of the Holy Spirit. His children, the goal is to make us more like Jesus and to save us forever.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for choosing me to be your child. Thank you for your indescribable love for me. Please help me to grow more in your love and to be more like Jesus.
