Do you have a church that you attend?
Are you breaking bread with your brothers and sisters in Christ?
This has a twofold meaning. The first expression in Acts and the early church seems to refer to sharing meals in one another’s home. How often do you cultivate relationships with others in your church? Do you ask them to your home for a meal?
The other expression could refer to the agape love meal or to the Lord’s Supper. Read first Corinthians 11:21. This was a means of expressing thankfulness towards God and each other. They enjoyed each other’s company. They were caring and sharing community. They were people that were of gratitude and hospitality.
Do you have a community of people to show gratitude and love?
God created us to be people to function and thrive in a community environment. We need to be in the right relationship with him and others.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for having us be people that have to have a community. Thank you for the Lord’s supper. That we can take the time and remember you and all that you did for us. I pray that we will have a heart like the people of Act 2. That we will cultivate a relationship with others.
In Jesus Name
Amen
