Do you grumble?
Do you complain?
We, humans, are complainers. When we don’t like something, we grumble and complain about it!
Do you catch yourself doing that? Pay attention this week and see how often you do complain and what your grumbling about. When we are complaining we are not having gratitude. In fact, we have a terrible attitude. Complaining and grumbling show us and others where our hearts are at.
The Israelites, after three days into their journey, started to grumble and complain. They were complaining and grumbling because they didn’t realize this journey was going to be difficult. They had already forgotten their deliverance from slavery and Gods might act on their behalf.
Have you ever found yourself in this spot?
They would not trust God and commit to their future to him. They depend on fear and comfort. They were not thankful. This brought God’s anger and judgment upon them.
In your grumbling and complaining have you seen God’s anger?
As followers of Christ Jesus, we must not forget what our Triune God did for us. We must ALWAYS be grateful for Jesus Christ dying on the cross for us. Just as God delivered the Israelites out of Egypt, Jesus delivered us out of sin.
God tells us not to complain. We need to work daily not to fall into this trap! I know, its easier said than done. However, we should make a goal to work and practice not to complain or grumble. We need to look at our Triune God and let Him lead us. We need to trust Him. He provides and gives blessings in our lives.
Look at the people you do life with. Are they grumblers and complainers?
Complaining and grumbling are contagious. Be careful with this. This can be a trap you fall into. Find the positive things in the areas where you want to grumble and complain!
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for this day that you have made. I pray that we will choose not to complain or grumble about things. I pray that we will have gratitude to you and trust you in all things.
In Jesus Name
Amen
