You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Psalm 139: 13-14
Read Psalm 139: 13-18. Read this passage slowly. Savor every word like you do your favorite drink and food. There is much scripture in the Bible showing how God is a creator that has a plan. He is personally involved in bringing each of us into existence.
How many of you love science? It is not my favorite subject. However, when you study the body, it is amazing all the little details God put into each of us. Each part of our body works and operates from the littlest cell to the big parts of our body. The inside and the outside all work together to make us function the way God intended. We are each wonderfully and fearfully made.
Read 139: 14. Read this verse in NIV and King James versions. Look at the word wonderfully from NIV and marvelous in the King James version. Go to blueletterbible.org and find what the Hebrew word is and the meanings. Then find some English synonyms. This Hebrew word also appears in Joshua 3:5.
God knew of our existence from the time of conception. Before each of our mothers even knew. We were/are his little secret for a while. God’s own skillful hands knitted each of us into our own beings while in the womb. He knew everything we did while in the womb before sonograms. God was there watching.
Read Psalm 139:1-5. How closely does God watch you? Focus on the word search from verse 1. The original word for searched is chagar. It means to search, search for, search out, examine, investigate. What insights do you have from all of this information on the word search?
From an NIV bible, read Psalm 139:16. What does this say? Do you find comfort in knowing that not only did God fashion us in our mothers’ wombs? He knew the moments we were conceived to the moment of our last heartbeat. God desires to have us with Him in heaven, to have a close relationship with Him, our creator. Read Philippians 3: 20-21. How are our bodies compared to here on earth to what they will be like in Heaven?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for being our creator. Thank you for knowing all the little details.
In Jesus Name
Amen
