Digging Deeper
Do you love that we get to grow deeper in our faith? That we serve a living God. That God loves us and pursues us. Let’s take today and dig deeper into God’s word.
Let’s look at these verse for today:
Romans 11:20-21
Romans 13:3 -4
2 Cor. 7:11
1 Peter 2:17
1 Peter 3:14
1 John 4: 18
Psalm 34:4
Proverbs 28: 14
Romans 11:20-21 That is true. They were broken off because of their unbelief, but you stand fast through faith. So do to become proud, but fear for if God did not spare the natural branches neither will he spare you.
Why were they broken off?
What helps us stand fast?
Why must we fear God?
What is it that you are to apply to you life?
Romans 13:3. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrong doer.
What is this verse about?
Does it apply to fear, anxious, worry?
Why do you think this?
2 Cor. 7:11. For see what earnestness this godly grief has produced in you, but also what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what longing, what zeal, what punishment! At every point you have proved yourselves innocent in the matter.
What is the godly grief?
What does fear have to do with godly grief?
1 Peter 2:17 – Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.
Why must we honor everyone?
Why must we love the brotherhood?
Why does God was us to fear him?
For the following verse I want you to read and research what these verses mean and how to apply them to your life
1 Peter 3:14 – but even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled,
1 John 4:18. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
Psalms 34:4 – I sought the Lord, and he answered me add delivered me from all my fears
Proverbs 28: 14 – Blessed is the one who fear the Lord always, but whoever hardens his heart will fall into calamity
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you that we have this time to dig deeper into you and your word. I pray that we will have an understanding of you word and what you want us to know and understand. I pray that we will apply what you show us to our lives.
In Jesus Name
Amen
