
Do you ever feel overwhelmed with confessing your sin and not feeling that you are good enough? While you are dealing with your sin, remember that Our Lord is full of compassion and mercy for us. He loves you deeply.
Let’s take today to dig deeper into repentance! Read Psalm 51. This is King David’s prayer of repentance. To understand context of this passage, you also might want to read 2 Samual 11:1 -12:15. Let’s break Psalm 51 down:
Verse 1: Be gracious to me, God, according to Your faithful love; according to Your abundant compassion, blot out my rebellion.
We depend on God alone for mercy and compassionn. We have no other source of forgiveness
Verse 2: Wash away my guilt and cleanse me from my sin.
Wash my throughly from my iniquity, ad cleanse from my sin
Verse 3: For I am conscious of my rebellion, and my sin is always before me.
Guilt is our constant companion when we refuse to repent
Verse 4: Against you – You along – I have sinned and done this evil in Your sight. So you are right when you pass sentence; you are blameless when You judge.
against you and only you, have we sinned and done what is evil in your sight. You will be justified in your words and blameless in your judgment
Verse 5: Indeed, I was guilty when I was born; I was sinful when my mother conceived me.
All our sin is committed against you and while you are watching. You are just. You have every right to deal with our sin

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your call to repentance. I pray that we will take heed to what you are bringing to our attention. I pray that we will desire to have a repentive heart everyday. I pray that we will want to reflect in our lives who you are.
