One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple. Psalm 27:4
God’s word is so wonderful. Today let’s dig deeper into His word and see what it all has to say about our time with our Heavenly Father.
Let’s read:
Psalm 63:1-8:
O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You. In a dry and thirsty land. Where there is no water. So I have looked for You in the sanctuary, To see Your power and Your glory. Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness, And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips. When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. Because You have been my help, Therefore in the shadow of Your wings, I will rejoice. My soul follows close behind You; Your right hand upholds me.
Psalm 119: 33-40:
Teach me, O Lord, the way of Your statutes, And I shall keep it to the end. Give me understanding, and I shall keep Your law; Indeed, I shall observe it with my whole heart. Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it. Incline my heart to Your testimonies, And not to covetousness. Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, And revive me in Your way. Establish Your word to Your servant, Who is devoted to fearing You. Turn away my reproach which I dread, For Your judgments are good. Behold, I long for Your precepts; Revive me in Your righteousness.
Now look up and read Matthew 6:5-15 and 1 Timothy 3:14- 4:5
What do you glean from these passages about God’s word? Does anything pop out at you to meditate on?
Now let’s read Joshua 1:8; Psalm 1:2; Psalm 119:56; Ezekiel 33:31-32; James 1:22 and Hebrews 4:2.
What do these passages teach you? What stands out to you? Isn’t God’s Word Amazing!!!!! Is God’s word impacting you and those who are around you? If not, what can you change in your life, your heart, your mind? Is God’s word taking more of your mindset or are there other things?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your amazing love for each of us. You are truly amazing in all of your ways. I pray that we will be devoted to you in all areas of our lives. I pray that we will make you our everything.
