Digging Deeper

Without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.  Hebrews 11:6

Wow what a week about learning about faith.  Today, let’s digger deeper into faith.  Let’s look at these passages fo scripture and describe the crisis of belief.  Read 1 Chronicles 14:8-16.  What is the crisis of belief in this passage?  Read Matthew 17:24-27.  What is the crisis of belief here?

What is faith? Read Hebrews 11:1.  What is opposite of faith?  Read 2 Corinthians 5:7.  How important is it for your faith to be in God and what He says rather than what you or someone else decides would be nice thing to have happen?  Read Deut. 18:20,22. What is potential faith?  Read John 14:12.  What should we base our faith? On what should we not base our faith on?  Read 1 Corinthians 2:4-5.  Faith is having confidence that what God has promised or said will come to pass.

Have you had a God size encounter with God?  God gives us God size assignments.  Something really only He can accomplish through us.  Read 2 Chronicles 20:12; 20:19; Daniel 3:17; 4:2-3, Acts 2:41, 4:4 and Acts 9:42.  What difference or impact do you see in the lives of people who saw or heard about God’s activity?  How would you describe the response fo the people in your community to the gospel of Jesus Christ?

How does the world come to know God?

Why are people in our world not being attracted to Christ and His church?

What kind of assignments does God give His people?

Why does God give us God sized assignments?

Actions speaks louder than words!!! Read Matthew 9:20-22.  What did the woman do to demonstrate her faith? What do you think the woman believed about Jesus’ power to heal?

Has God led you to do something that you did not do because  you lacked faith?

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for teaching us about faith.  I pray that our faith will bring action for your glory.  I pray that we will understand what faith is and how important it is in our lives.

In Jesus Name,  Amen
