And what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men who will be able to teach others also. 2 Timothy 2:2
Faithful men/women are to be able to teach others. The words “be able” not only applies to a person’s gifts and knowledge, but also to their character and lifestyle. Mature Christians need to take time to disciple new Christians. We need to tell them and show them the principles of God’s ways.
Mature Christians need to speak biblical truths. They need to live by example. We need to follow the reasons for biblical and theological training. We are entrusted with the message of Jesus. We need to know, guard, and teach true bible-based faith. We need to show the great necessity to “contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints” and give them means to defend against false teachings and philosophies. Biblical training equips us to grow stronger and more mature in their faith. Discipleship can bring a person to a deeper understanding and experience of God’s kingdom.
Discipleships must be done only with those who are loyal to God’s word. We must be open to the powerful work of the Holy Spirit in and through them. Discipleships emphasizes true righteousness. It’s not about the intellectual knowledge and comprehension of Biblical facts or truths. The teachings reveal in God’s Word are redemptive truths, not academic ones.
Do you know and understand your bible to teach it to others?
Are you loyal to God and His Word?
Are you showing how to live for God?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your love. I pray that we will teach the truth to others. I pray that we will have a deeper understanding of your word.
In Jesus Name
Amen
