Don’t Hide The Sin

Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.  Proverbs 28:13

Do NOT! Repeat Do Not hide your transgressions.  When we deny our sin,  we are rebelling against God.  When we don’t work with God on our sin, we are going our own way.  At this point we are not making any spiritual progress.  Therefore, we are not prospering.

It is in our nature to hide or overlook our sins.  To not let others know our sins or our wrong doing.  We all make mistakes. Humans make excuses over their sins.   We all can learn form our mistakes.  However, it’s only fools who keep repeating them. The pride in each of us strongly resists admitting when we have sinned.

Covering our wrongdoing keeps it like a secret.  There is no accountability in that.  Therefore, you won’t grow in Christ.

When we confess our sins, God’s mercy is given to us.  Mercy in this verse comes from the Hebrew word racism.  It means ‘to love’, love deeply, have mercy, be compassionate, have tender affection, have compassion.  Strong’s definition is to obtain mercy upon.

Let’s  confess our sins.  Do not hide it.  When rebuked listen pray, confess, and learn from it.  Let God’s mercy fall upon you as you remove the sin from your life.  Prosper in God.

Are you ready to confess you sins?

Are you ready to forsake your sins?

Are you wanting to prosper in God?

If you are ready to do these things, confess them to God, get a trusted accountability partner, and turn from your old ways.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for giving your mercy to us when we confess our sins.  Help us to not want to keep it secret, to cover it to hide the sin.  God we want to progress in growth in you.  Thank you for all you do for us.

In Jesus Name

Amen
