God, you are my God; I eagerly seek you. I thirst for you; my body thirstsfor you in a land that is dry, desolate, and without water. Psalms 63:1
Isn’t this just a wonderful verse describing how we should be and respond to God. Do you equally seek God daily? Do you thirst for him? Have you ever felt faint, weakness, when you are dry, desolate, and not in his presence?
I get giddy to spend time with God. I eagerly seek him. I’m grateful that I get to hear his voice. I am grateful that I get to sit right in the very presence of God.
Eagerly means used to emphasize a strong desire to do or have something or in a keenly expectant or interest manner. It is described as someone excited about or impatient for something. Do you feel this way about God? I sure do. Each day if I do not make time to spend with God I am missing out on the best part of my day.
Does your heart eagerly seek God? Do you spend genuine time with God or is it a to do list? Do you drink up his word as if you can’t get enough?
I know what it is like a eagerly seek God. I know what it is to go through a dry desolate time in my life. It was during that time that I chose to seek God eagerly. He showed Up and ministered to me. He gave me love, peace, acceptance, and protection. Thank goodness I have an understanding husband, he encouraging me to take this time just to be in the presence of God. God was all I thought about, all I talked about, all I wanted.
I am grateful for God. I am grateful that I get to eagerly seek him. I’m thankful that I get to thirst for him and he will clench that thirst!
Dear heavenly father,
Thank you for being my God! Thank you for loving your people and being their God! God I pray that we will be a people that will eagerly seek you daily throughout the day! I pray that our mind will constantly be on you!
In Jesus Name
Amen
