What does the passage above mean to you? What does this teach you about following Jesus?
This past week we have touched on three kinds of relationships. All of these relationships are interdependent with one another. ” A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you(abide), that you also love one another(connect). By this, all men will know (share) that you’re My disciples if you’ve loved for one another. John 13:34-35. In this one verse do you see how the three relationships are interdependent with each other? When we love Jesus and abide in him, then God manifests through us the kind of love He desires us to have for one another.
Isn’t our Triune God awesome! In one verse He has shown us how to abide in him, connect with one another, and to share Him with others. Following Jesus is all about relationships. It is not about confining to a system or a set of doctrinal truths. It about how we grow in Him and enjoy being with Him.
This past week, what have you learn about God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit? How is your relationship with our Triune God? Have you learned anything new from the scriptures of this past week? How is your understanding of the Scripture? Has anything changed for you on being a follower of Jesus? Where do you see the greatest opportunity for Jesus to work in your life?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for being a relational God with us. I pray that we will have a desire to abide in you and to serve you wholeheartedly. I pray that we will desire to have a deep relationship with you and with others.
In Jesus Name
Amen
