He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the Lord is powerful and so that you (Israel) might always fear the Lord your God. Joshua 4:24
God is interest in the world coming to know Him. The only way we will know Him is by seeing him at work. We know Him by his nature, When we see His nature expressed in His activity.
Are you a believer in that God will ask you to do something that you can’t do? I am not. If God only asked us to do what we can do or are comfortable with, where does His glory come through in our lives? Where do we depend on His owner and strength and not our own? I believe that God will ask us to do things that we can’t do. It’s through that moment that God will come and give us His power and strength to do the assignment Je is asking us to do. Then we and others will see God at work. The assignments God gives in the Bible are God size. They are always beyond what man can do. God does this to demonstrate his nature, strength, provision, and His kindness to His people and to others watching.
God had Moses lead the Israelites to camp beside the Red Sea. God knew he was going to deliver them by dividing the sea and let them cross the dry land. Read Exodus chapter 14 verse four. What was the result? Next read Exodus 14:31. What did the people do in verse 31? God commanded Joshua to lead the Israelites across the Jordan River at flood stage. Read Joshua chapter 4 verse 24. Why did God have Joshua leave them cross the river at a flood stage? In the New Testament the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit is spoken for languages they had not learned. The early church follow the directions of the Holy Spirit. God ihad Peter and John to heal a crippled Baker in the name of Jesus. When people follow God at work through his servants, who got the credit? God or the servants?
Today, what is the world seeing? Are they seen a devoted committed Christian serving God? Are they saying God at work through us today? People today do not see anything happening that can only be explained in terms of the activity of God. Why is this? It’s because we are not attempting anything that only God can do. The world is not attracted to the Christ we serve, because they cannot see him at work. They see us doing things for God and say, “that is wonderful” people are not getting the opportunity to see God at work because we are not saying yes to God sized assignments. If we would allow God to use us at our weakest others will see God and be attracted to what he can do. We need to let them see the difference but I live in Christ makes an a life, a family, or a church; that will make a difference in how they respond. When others see things happening through God’s people that cannot be explained other than God himself has done for them, then the world will be drawn to the God They see!
Are you willing to be obedient to God‘s assignment of being used in a God sized assignment? Or are you going to live in fear of you can’t do and God would not ask you to do what you think you cannot do?
Dear Heavenly Father,
God, thank you for what you are. Thank you that we get to lean into your power and your strength when you give us a card size and assignment. I think you that prove you others will see you and he will receive the glory for what you do because we cannot do it without you. God I pray, that we will not let fear of what you ask us to do be a stumbling block in our lives. I pray will trust you To obey your assignment to each of us.
