Jesus speaks of a faith that can move mountains, miracles, and healings, and accomplish great things for God. True faith is an effective faith that produces a faith that will move mountains. True faith is not a belief in faith, as a power of its own, but as faith in God. God is the object and focus of our faith in order for it to be effective. It’s not the amount of faith.
The mustard seed is very tiny. All followers of Christ already possess at least that much faith. It’s not how much faith you have, but what you do with it. We must direct our faith towards God himself. He should be the source and the object of our faith.
True faith is the work of God within the hearts of believers. It’s not something we create by putting out the effort. It involves god being aware of our hearts. He hears and answers our prayers. This faith is created and inspired by the Holy Spirit. We cannot produce it in our own minds.
True faith is a gift from God through Christ. As we grow closer to Christ, our devotion to God grows. We can’t do anything without Christ. True faith is God’s control. He gives us faith on the basis of His love, mercy, grace, wisdom, and purpose. God gives us what we need when we need it.
How much faith does one need to have?
Is the amount of faith the criteria to move mountains?
What or who is the source of our faith?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your grace, mercy, and wisdom. Thank you for your son. I pray that as we grow more in you that our faith will also grow in you.
In Jesus Name
Amen
