Be careful! God has warned all of us to be careful of false teachers and preachers, especially in the last days. They will gain influence in the church by saying they have new revelations and solutions to sermon problems.
The key to knowing if you have false teachers is to know your bible and know God’s voice. False teachers will not show evidence from the bible to back their claims up. They may preach according to God’s word, but inside they are as corrupted as in the days of Jesus. there are Christians writers, missionaries, pastors, evangelists, teachers, musicians, other church leaders, and workers/volunteers who aren’t who they claim to be or appear to be. They will appear to be righteous (Matthew 23: 28). They will come in sheep’s clothing (Matthew 7:15). These kinds of ministers can fool us because of their messages, their works, and the acts of the salvation of others. This behavior will for a time when they seem to be great, awesome leaders empowered by the Holy Spirit. They might not even perform miracles. They speak out from an empty heart.
False teachers have influence in two ways. First, is they begin their ministry with the right motives. They are devoted to spiritual truth, purity, and real faith in Christ. Pride is what brings them down. They are lead by their insecurities and desire for acceptance or a drive of success. They lose their place with God. They become instruments of Satan.
Jesus warned his disciples 14 times in the gospels about the false teachers that twist the truth and misleads the people. In other areas of the Bible, He tells his followers to test the teachers, preachers, and leaders in the church to prove that their hears are in the right relationship with God. Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your guidance on knowing the truth and how to know the truth. God, I pray that we will take seriously your warning on false teachers. I pray that we will have a desire to know your word and have a personal relationship with you.
