For A Time Such As This

For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish.  And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?  Esther 4:14-15

Read Esther 4:14-5:2 for context

Mordecai was being truthful to Esther in her role in God’s plan.  God did place her to be the Queen at the right moment in time.  Her purpose at this time was to save Israel.  Mordecai was telling Esther that she has to help, if not she to will perish.  She won’t escape because she is queen.

God has all the power and authority to do as he wishes.  His highest purposes most often include humans to be apart of it and have a responsibility.  God is involved in world events in order to save His people.  He does this in order to accomplish his purposes of bringing salvation to the spiritually lost people so we a have a relationship with God.

Esther was an ordinary person, who happened to be a jew.  God shows that in the life of Esther, how he can give ordinary people extraordinary influence at just the right time.  Esther was faithful.  She fasted and prayed.  She had other people fast and pray.  Through this, her faith moved mountains for the jews.

All followers must remember that God is active in all areas of our lives.  He will protect us.  He will work through us.  He will bless us.  When we go through hard stuff, remember He made you for such a time as this!

Do you believe that God can put you in a situation to make you extraordinary?

Would you be willing to have faith and be that extraordinary person?

Even if you had to walk through something that could make you perish?

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for using ordinary people for extraordinary events.  I pray that as you place each of your followers in certain situations that we will fast and pray to you for guidance.  I pray that as we stay faithful to you, you will protect us.

In Jesus Name

Amen
