Do you easily forgive others? Do you find it hard to forgive others? When you have hurt others, do you desire them to forgive you?
“Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy.”
Micah 7:18 NIV Forgiveness is an important element of our Christian faith. When we ask God for his forgiveness, our sin is released through the blood of Jesus Christ. Since we are recipients of His forgiveness, God has asked us to forgive others.
Have you ever held onto forgiveness? Have you ever noticed what happens when we don’t forgive others. Our hearts began to hold onto bitterness and anger. We will not have joy or piece in our lives when we don forgive others. We begin to live in bondage.
What are the benefits of forgiving others? We live in freedom. We live in peace. We live in joy. We live in love.
Forgiveness is a beautiful gift our triune God has given to us. How beautiful it is when we extend this amazing gift to others.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for your wonderful, amazing gift of forgiveness. I pray that we will be in obedience to you and offer this gift to others who have hurt us.
