Giving God Gratitude

Oh, give thanks to the Lord!  Call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples!  Sing to Him, sing psalms to Him;  Talk of all His wondrous works! Glory in His holy name; Let the hearts of those rejoice who seek the Lord! Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore!  He is the Lord our God; his judgments are in all the earth.   He remembers his covenant forever, the word that he commanded, for a thousand generations,   the covenant that he made with Abraham, his sworn promise to Isaac,  which he confirmed to Jacob as a statute, to Israel as an everlasting covenant,  saying, “To you, I will give the land of Canaan as your portion for an inheritance.”  Psalm 105:1-11

Do you thank God for all the things in your life?  Do you ever slow down enough to think and notice the little things that you can be thankful for?

Here it is in November!  We take the time to focus on this month to think about gratitude.  This is a great thing to do. You will start to see people on social media sharing what they are thankful for in their lives.  This is a great way to inspire others to think about what they can be thankful for.  Some make a list of everything we have gratitude for.  How many things in your life can you think of to be thankful for?

This section of scripture calls the Israelites to worship, praise, give thanks, and pursue a deeper relationship with God.  This psalm aims at inspiring gratitude for God’s provisions and care.  Do you ever take the time to think about all that God provides in your life?  How about the care he gives to you?

We should share the good things that God is doing in our lives.  Make known His deeds among the peoples!!  We should take the time to remember all the good things God has done for us.  He is so good to us.  Even in the hard times, when we are faithful to Him, He is good to us.  He is at work.  This also should inspire us to have gratitude to God for all he has done for us.  The more we focus on what to be thankful for and showing our gratitude, we will have joy.

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for your provisions and the care you give to your children.  I pray that as we go through this month, that we will look at all the goodness in you, Lord.  I pray that we will thank you often throughout the day.  I pray that we will have gratitude in the little things in our lives and the big things.  You are so wonderful and amazing.  We love you, God.
