Do nothing from selfish ambitions or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Philippians 2:3

Today we see selfish ambition. It is one of the top enemy of unity in the Christian community. Christians fall trapped in the tendency to promote their own interests and not let go of their own views and opinions. Humility is a part of Christian unity because it is a quality of Jesus’ character.
The Bible’s view point of humanity and spiritual salvation places a high value to humility. Humble means to be conscious of our weaknesses and inadequacies. To give quick credit to God and others for what they have accomplished. Humility involves us to not think about ourselves more highly then others. It is having the right attitude towards God, others, and ourselves.
Since we are sinners, we must be humble. We have no right to boast. Other then we boast in Christ. We are dependent on God for our worth, purpose, and productivity. We will not accomplish anything without him or others that has a lasting value.
God lives with those who are humbly following God. He gives more grace to those who are humble. However, he opposes the proud. The most devoted and passionate followers serve Christ with humility. We as Christ followers must be humble towards one another. We must give more honor to others then ourselves.
Even though it is hard to be humble, we need to put into action our humility to God and others and fight against pride and selfishness. We need to work at being humble, so that we as Christians can have unity among each other. We need to be humble, so we can honor Christ and his example.
Are you humble?
Do you struggle with pride?
Can you put Christ and others before yourself?
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for this beautiful day. I pray that we will work towards being humble. That we will fight against our pride. I pray that we will think about others before ourself. God there is a lot of things ponying to self care. I know we need to take care of our self but if this new way of thinking is against your ways. Please speak to our hearts. Show us how to have balance.
In Jesus Name,
Amen
