God Invites You To Join Him

“My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am working. . . . I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.  For the Father loves the Son and shows him all he does.  John 5:17, 19-20

Do you enjoy and love reading the bible and finding nuggets and “ah -uh” moments?  Do you enjoy learning who God is?

The Bible reveals that God has been and is involved in the world.  He has never been absent from it or what is taking place in our world, or the history of our world.  In the Bible, God reveals Himself.  It’s not totally about the people and their relationship with God.  It is also about the activity fo God and His relationship with individuals.  The focus is on God and His activity.

God is always at work around you.  God pursues a continuing love relationship with you that is real and personal.  God invites you to become involved with Him in His work.  God speaks by the Holy Spirit through the Bible, prayer, circumstances, and the church to reveal Himself, His purposes, and His ways.  God is revealing his redemptive ways.  We can see that He is taking the initiative and involves His people with Him.  God chooses to work through them to accomplish His purposes.

Here are a few examples of this:  When God was ready to judge the world, he went to Noah.  He was about to do something and he involved Noah.  When He was ready to build a nation, he went to Abraham.  God was going to accomplish through Abraham.  When God heard the cry of the children of Israel and decided to deliver them.  He appeared to Moses.  God came to Moses because of his purpose.  He planned to deliver Israel through Moses.  Then through His Son, He gave 12 men to HIm to prepare them to accomplish His purposes.  When God is ready to move, He takes the initiative to move through one or more of His servants.  Just think, you are one of the servants that He involves in His work.

How does God invite you to be involved with Him?  Well, let’s take a look at Jesus’ example.  According to our verse today, The Father has been working right up until now.  Now, God, has me working.  I do nothing on my own initiative.  I watch to see what the Father is doing.  I do what I see the Father is already doing.  You see, the Father loves me.  He shows me everything that He, Himself, is doing.  Remember, to experience God personally, He has been at work in our world from the very beginning.   He is still at work.  The Father loved the Son and took initiative to come to Him and reveal what He (the father) was doing, or was about to do.  The Son kept on looking for the Father’s activity around Him, so He could invite HIs life with the Father’s activity.

As an obedient child of God, we are in a love relationship with God.  He loves us and wants to involve us in His work. He will show us where He is working so we can join Him.  Jesus watched where God was working, we need to do the same thing, watch.  Then we are invited to join in His work.

Are you willing to watch where God is working and join Him?

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for giving us the steps of how to be watching you.  I pray that we will be watching where you are working.  I pray that we will see and join you.

In Jesus Name

Amen
