God Is Calling To Us

My Grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.  Therefore, I will most gladly boast all the more about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may reside in me.  2 Corinthians 12:9

Have you been called to God to repent?  In what ways has He used to call you to repentance?

God will use many ways to get our attention on repenting from our sin.  The Holy Spirit will speak to us, He will use our own conscience  to convict us, He may allow us to “get caught”  or He may even use another believer to confront us.  However He chooses to confront us, it is best that we respond and understand these three things.

First, God reveals sin in our lives and urges us to repent is  showing His great love, mercy, and kindness.  As Christians, we are not protected from the forms of sin and can fall into those temptations. If we are unwilling to repent from our sin, it will lead to destruction.  Something in our life will breakdown because of no confession.  God doesn’t want this for his children, but he will discipline us  in order to restore us.  He will will us an opportunity to repent even when we are on the road to destruction.  Read Romans 2:1-10

Second, the best time  for us to respond to God is at the moment of conviction.  The longer we wait to repent, the harder it is for us to break that bondage of sin and we resist the Holy Spirit harder.  This makes it harder for us to be humble and repent.

Last, God never asks anything of us that He does not provide the grace to do.  Then means mo matter how strong  the bondage of sin or how long we have been involved in it, God can deliver us by His grace.  Read 1 Corinthians 10:13 an 2 Corinthians 12:9

In order for us to maintain a life of repentance, we has to stay humble.  Proud hearts do not respond to God’s call of repentance.  Repentance set our hearts right.  The purpose of repentance is not to make us feel better about ourselves but to restore us to a right relationship with God. We repent to enable ourselves to glorify God and to be used for His purpose.

How are ways we can be repenters?  Well, it requires us to renew our minds with the truth of scripture consistantly.  We respond to God immediantely.  We obey God completely.  We follow God personally.  We accept  God’s discipline faithfully.  Are you a true repenter?

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for allowing us to repent.  Thank you for loving us so much that you have different ways of getting our attention to repent.  I pray that we will keep a humble heart before you and have an obedient heart to your call to repentance.

In Jesus Name

Amen
