God Is Good

OH, give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!  Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he has redeemed from trouble and gathered in form the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.  Psalm 107: 1-3

Giving thanks to God!!! How wonderful is it that we can thank God for all he has done and for all that he will do?

Do you really take the time to thank God?  Do you know what to thank God for?  Sometimes it comes easy for me to thank God, and other times I don’t even know what to say.  Can you relate to that?  I am in a season where I am learning that the more you acknowledge God, bless God, and are grateful to God and His ways, there is peace and joy in the middle of the storms.

Even when things are hard, hurtful, etc., Do you really realize that He is still worthy to be thanked?

This psalm challenges those of us who God has saved to praise Him for rescuing us from a desperate situation.  God responds to our prayers.  He responds in times of extreme trouble: hunger and thirst, bondage, near-fatal illness, and accidents into days life, the dangers of storms.

This psalm is relevant for today.  It is for us today.  We all experience trouble and misery.  We can all cry out to God for help.

Just as the Israelites were in enemies country, God saved them.  He also will save us from what harms us.  God will direct us on the right path, as he did with Israelites.  We are called to give God thanks for all he does for us.

Giving thanks should not just happen one day out of the year or for one month, though.  We should be thanking God every day that we breathe here on earth.  There are so many things to be thankful for, even when we are in a drought, misery, pain, illness, etc.  We can find the good in God.  How faithful he is to his children.  Only if we are willing to look past what we are going through and keeping our eyes on God.

Dear Heavenly Father,

You are so good!!! You are a good, good father. Thank you for your protection.  Thank you for guiding our paths.  Thank you for redeeming us.

In Jesus Name

Amen
