God Is Who He Says He Is – Part 2

Did you ponder on yesterday’s post?  Did find the answer to how long Moses and Joshua waited before God spoke to them?  They waited forty days and nights, then in Exodus 25:1, God spoke!

In the old testament, the people could inquire of the Lord in the tent of meeting, however, they had to do it in a certain way.  Reread Exodus 33: 7-11.  What do you see them doing? They watched Moses from a distance.  In 2 Corthinians 3:10, we are the people of the New Covenant, we have the surpassing glory that God has offered to us.  Yet, we do what the Old Testament people did, we stand back and watch others draw near to God’s glory.  We are God’s anointed (1 John 2:27)!  Don’t stand back.  Jump in and be in His glory!!!

Joshua learned this.  He wasn’t satisfied with his relationship with God.  He learned his lessons well and knew that Moses’s God was also his God.  Where did his faith come from?  Joshua’s faith was born in the presence of God. Joshua knew God was who He said He. was because He knew God.

Read 2 Timothy 1:12.  Write this down word for word.  Why was Paul unashamed? Now let’s recall Isaiah 43:10 and write it out word for word.  Now circle or highlight the keywords words that are the same.

The more we know God, the more we will believe Him.  The more we choose to believe Him, the more we will get to know Him.  This is the cycle we want to stay on for the rest of our days.  We birth faith by knowing God.  Look up the following words from 2 Timothy 1:12:  know, believe, and persuaded.  What do you learn about these words?

This is what I know about God.  He is omnipotent, maker of heaven and earth, he sees, he knows, he acts on behalf of his children.  He is a mighty warrior.  He is a compassionate Father.   He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.  He is the coming King.  He is love, He is light, He is good.  He is right.  He is wise.  What else can we add to this list?

God is our God just as he was for the people of the Bible.  God the I AM That I AM is the same throughout every generation.  Whoever He was to the people of the Bible, He is to you.  Believe Him for all things and all situations.   Believe He is HUGE!

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for revealing to us who you say you are.  I pray that in every situation that we go through that you help us to believe you.  That we will stay focused on you and your plan.

In Jesus Name

Amen
