“Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!” Matthew 25:21
Do you often think or feel that when God speaks to you, that it should always make you feel good?
When God spoke to His people, He usually up to something. The moment God speaks to you is the moment you need to respond to Him. When God speaks to you, this is His timing. He speaks to His servant when He is ready to move. If we want to join Him, we better be ready. God is developing our character to match our assignment.
We must stay on the course of being God-centered. God will not give us a big assignment with our character not matching. We will need to check ourselves to make sure we are God-centered and not thinking we have to do the little things. we need to follow where he guides and not be arrogant and prideful of the work we do. In order to be used by God, we have to be willing to do the little things. Do not rule out an assignment based on your own preconceived ideas. Seek God ought. Obey God when you know you heard his voice. You will know by the depth of your relationship with God.
Suppose you had planned to go fishing or watch your favorite thing on TV, or go shopping. Then God calls you to an opportunity to join Him in something He wants to do. What would you do?
Were you painfully honest with yourself? This question happens many times in our lifetime. Sometimes we pass this and other times we fail. Sometimes we try to manipulate the situation to make both activities work. We, humans, say we want to serve, but when it comes down to it, we don’t. We make every excuse in the world not to do what God is asking. We even use the excuse that God would not ask us to do something that we are not comfortable with or in our personality. Guess what!! you are wrong with that excuse. He will use you in the weakest areas, so you will lean on Him. This is where His glory shines in our lives. IF you are not adjusting your life to God’s, you are being self-centered.
How about comparing yourself to other Christians and how God is using them. Chances are God is giving you those same opportunities to be doing the work of God, but you are not responding to Him. You not adjusting your life to God’s ways.
What kind of an assignment are you wanting from God? Are you frustrated or disappointed in this area of your life?
Can you see a time in your life where God was giving you an assignment and you didn’t respond?

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for speaking to us and giving us an assignment. God, I pray that we will know your voice. I pray that we will respond to you and what you ask of us. I aks that we are not self-centered but God-centered. I pray that you will be the Lord of our lives.
