God Who Strengthens Me

I can do all things through Him who strengths me.   Philippians 4:13

The phrase “God only gives me what I can handle” is not correct.  I believe that God will call us to do hard things.  It can be physically, spiritually, or emotionally something hard for us to do or go through.  I can give you two scripture references that show this.  In Daniel 3, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego are put into a fiery furnace.  They served God wholeheartedly.  They obeyed God.  Depending on the version you use, the soldiers died before they even got the men into the furnace.  These three men kept walking into the furnace.  Honestly, who could do that willingly? Now, lets’ look at Abraham.  God asked him to sacrifice his son, Isaac.  Could you do that?  He has us do things that we cannot do to show His mighty power and strength.

What have you walked through that was hard for you?  Could you do it on your own?  Did you rely on God or yourself?  Did you pray to God for his help?  All I know is that God has asked me to do many things that were not of me.  It’s where I had to ask him for his strength to get through those situations.  To endure the many hardships he guided me through.  Where we are weak, he is strong.  This is where his glory shines through us!

Dear God,

I come before you to ask you to give us the strength to go through the hardship of life with you.  Please give us your strength to get through each of our situations.  I pray that through this, your glory will shine.  I pray that we will serve and obey you like many of the people did in the Bible.

Amen
