God’s Abounding Love

The  Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.  For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him.  But the steadfast love of the Lord is from  everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children’s children.  Psalm 103:8, 11, 17

Isn’t it wonderful how God is slow to anger? He is so patient with us.  Here we sin.  We put idols in our lives.  We put Go on the back burner.  We are more concerned about what we get out of God, then caring and loving God.  We make deals with God on how we will change and put him first when things go bad.  Then once everything is good, we go back on our word to Him.

Yet, He is patient with us and slow to anger.  God shows us mercy and grace when we deserve his anger. He gives us abounding love.  God is good to everyone.  His love is so great that it reaches to the heavens.  God is patiently waiting for us to repent of our sinful ways.  God wants to reconciled with us.  When we fear God, his mercy prevails.

God’s love is from past, present, and future.  We have security in Him.  Even our children can have security of his mercy.

Dear Heavenly  Father,

Thank you for your great patients with us.  Thank you for loving us as high as the heavens.  Thank you for showering us with you mercy and grace.  I pray that we will seek you each day and love you back as much as you love us.

In Jesus Name

Amen
