You are chosen! Pause and think about this. You are chosen! you are chosen by our Triune God. Since you are holy and beloved and God’s chosen, you now can put on these new characteristics: compassionate heart, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience. You don’t have to have these characteristics until after you accept Jesus as your savior.
To put on means to sink into clothing. So as you put on your clothes, remember to also clothe yourself with these characteristic dailies. Each day put on mercies towards others. Have a heart of compassion instead of reflecting everything back about you. Put on kindness. Do an act of kindness challenge to others daily. It does not always have to have a price tag to do kindness. This is moral goodness and integrity.
Next, is humility. Ugh! humility is such a hard one huh!! We need to be humble. We need to have a humble opinion about ourselves. Don’t put ourselves above another.
Meekness, which means teachable and righteous. Let yourself learn through others. We can learn through their mistakes. We can learn through our experiences. We can also be teachable to God through prayer and study His word.
Last, put on longsuffering. Be patient. Have endurance. Be constant. Be perseverance. Be slow in avenging wrongs. This also means keeping your mouth shut about the person who has wronged you.
With God’ s help, we can put on these characteristics every day. We have to be intentional about every day to live for God and do right by HIm.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for choosing us. Thank you for loving us and helping us. I pray that daily we will choose to live for you. I pray that will daily put on your characteristics.
