Do you have a hard time submitting to God’s plans? Would you rather do your plans than God’s?
We all struggle with totally submitting to God’s plans. We don’t always realize that God’s ways are the best. We cause problems within the church when we move away from God’s plans and implement our own. We need to realize that God can do more in a short amount of time then when we try things in our own way.
Psalm 81: 13-14 says, ‘if my people would but listen to me if Israel would follow my ways, how quickly would I subdue their enemies and turn my hand against their foes.’
What could have been true had Israel listened to and followed God?
In Hebrews 3:7-19, it says “therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says, “Today if you hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as when they provoked me and saw my works for forty years. Therefore I was angry with this generation, and said, “They always go astray in their hearts, and they did not know my ways. As I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.” Please continue to read verses 12-19 in your bible. Why were the children of Israel denied the entrance of the Promised Land?
They didn’t listen and submit to God’s plans. We need to adjust our lives according to God so he can do what he wants to do through us. We are God’s servants, not the other way around. God will let us follow our own devices when we don’t submit to Him. However, by doing so we will never experience what God is want to do in us for ourselves and for others.
Would you rather follow your own plans and be in a spiritual wilderness or Follow God’s plans and enter the spiritual promised land?
We need to know God’s plans for our lives, church, community, and nation at this time in history. Then we can adjust our lives to God’s ways.
