For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. Titus 2:11
Read Titus 2: 1-10
What is the main ministry of a pastor? Pastors main are about relating to people and groups of people. There are five groups of people that ministers have to connect with to have Godly behavior. The first one is older men, older women, and younger women so that no one will malign the word of God (Titus 2:1-5). The next group is younger men so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing wrong to say about us (Titus 2:6-8). The third group is slaves so that in every way, they will make the teaching about God our Savior attractive (Titus 2:9-10).
Faithful believers are like sheep; they will follow their shepherd. They seek to obey and practice what their pastor tells them. When ministers preach standards that are above them, they will try to improve their standards. However, when a minister preaches below the norm, they will relax and lower their standards. A minister has to be preaching the sound doctrine of truth. Ministers have to be careful with how they word their sermons. If a minister tells the congregation that they are sinners, they will act like it. But if the minister preaches, as the bible says, that they were once sinners but have been saved from sin, then the church members will live as God’s people. When believers start living godly lives, this gives the church a good reputation; then, the church is an influential witness in the community.
The message of the gospel rises and falls on the behavior of the believers. Believers are the open letter from Christ to the lost people. Read 2 Corinthians 3: 2-3. Titus 2: 1-10 is that those outside the church evaluate the gospel and the church based on how church members behave. Could this also be a consideration of the believers within the church, how we evaluate other members, and how they behave and treat one another? It has been known that believers walk away because of other believers’ behaviors. Yes, we need to remember that we are human; however, when in Christ, we have a higher standard of doing things so that our lives represent the gospel well for those who don’t believe.
Grace refers to the free, kind, and generous ways God relates to people.
